Once the picture has loaded, it will automatically start rotating clockwise. It can be manually rotated left or right and zoomed in or out. Once manually rotated, the automatic rotation will stop and can be restored by reloading the page.
Rotate the picture by either using the keyboard arrows or by pressing the left mouse button when the mouse cursor is inside the picture and dragging it either right or left. The further the cursor is dragged from the center of the picture the faster the picture will rotate. Pressing the "A" key will zoom in. Pressing the "Z" key will zoom out.
The picture was taken on February 18, 1998 on the pier in Tahoe City, California using an Olympus D600L digital camera. Ten individual pictures were taken and combined electronically into a 360 degree panorama. The actual picture is much sharper than shown. It has been compressed and reduced in size to allow faster loading.
